Optimism Trials the Royals future as club gets Soria backing
It doesn’t take an expert to realize how the bottom seeded teams in Major League Baseball are faring in the off season. With countless National League and American League ball clubs facing a possibility of capturing good players
from the list of free agents, there has been a positive buzz in the market. Topping the list on everyone’s wish list is Cliff Lee but smaller teams will be holding back on the veteran as they will go for options on the list. It doesn’t matter who may come
in but the experience will count as a monumental asset, at the end of the day.
The Kansas City Royals may have been trying hard on the field but there is a big concern for many supporters who see the club picking up weak draft players in the off season. That thought was rather enforced by Kansas’ star pitcher,
Zack Greinke who told Kansas City Star’s reporter, Bob Dutton that he was not moved or excited by the youngsters in the ball club, back in August. He stated that a chance for more than one of the new bred players to come out on top is very slim.
The statement by Royals’ star player comes as an underlining criticism for the team’s rebuilding system. However, not all players in the ball club share the same view on the situation. Closer Joakin Soria is one star player to
make a contradiction and the All Star ball player believes the side has been improving along the lines, as the days close in for the next season’s start. He recently said in an interview, “I’m still young and I think I’m a piece of what they want to do with
this team. I think it’s a good idea to rebuild the team, and they’ve been doing great work with the minor-league system.”
Soria has been sensational for the Royals this season and he made his 26th birthday count during the regular league tenure by converting 43 of his 46 chances into saves. His Earning Runs Average was also as low as 1.78.
