Optional DC Battery Pack Use

Question

I have purchased an optional external battery pack for the S-7000 and the camere worked fine until I used the battery pack on another device that required the polarity on the tip to be reversed. When I went back to using the battery pack on the S-7000, I forgot to switch the tip polarity back to positive and now camera does not work with the battery pack.I was told that there is a diode that blows when the polarity is reversed that prevents futher damage to the camera. I work in the electronics field as a repair technician and I would like to fix this because I'm sure I'll forget to swith the polarity back and blow the diode again. Where can I find a service manual for the FinePix S-7000 and are parts available for this camera?Thanks,JazzyMike
