Oracle Racing Coutts changes crew in America’s Cup World Series at San Diego
Third position holders in the overall AC World Series standings, Oracle Racing Coutts, have made some changes in their crew for the upcoming event of 2011 America’s Cup World Series at San Diego. A couple of days back, France’s Extreme 40 team Groupe Edmond
de Rothschild also announced that they will be joining compatriots, AC45 Aleph – Equipe de France in the event.
The crew changes made in the Oracle Racing Coutts squad include Darren Bundock as skipper and helmsman, tactician Tom Slingsby, Murray Jones as the wingsail trimmer along with Simon Daubney as the headsail trimmer. The bowman’s responsibility would be taken
by Simeon Tienpont.
On the other hand, Spithill’s crew for the San Diego event of AC World Series is comprised of James Spithill as the skipper and helmsman, John Kostecki as tactician, Dirk de Ridder as wingsail trimmer, while Joe Newton will be the headsail trimmer. Piet
van Nieuwenhuijzen is going to be the bowman on the AC45 yacht.
However, as far as the overall standings of the circuit are concerned, Oracle Racing Spithill and Oracle Racing Coutts are placed on second and third positions with 38 and 34 points, respectively. The French team, Aleph, have tumbled down at fifth place
after a low performance in the previous leg. Meanwhile, they have been joined by French Extreme team, Groupe Edmond de Rothschild in the San Diego race.
America’s Cup World Series Championship combined overall standings are given below:
1. Emirates Team New Zealand, Match Racing 19, Fleet Racing 19 = 38 points
2. ORACLE Racing Spithill, Match Racing 16, Fleet Racing 18 = 34 points
3T. ORACLE Racing Coutts, Match Racing 13, Fleet Racing 15 = 28 points
3T. Artemis Racing, Match Racing 16, Fleet Racing 12 = 28 points

first place if they play up to the mark in the AC World Series.
