Oral B sonic complete - how to change rechargeable battery when due?

What type of rechargeable battery it used, and how to change it; as I could not open the compartment. How much?

It's got a Ni-Cd battery which you can remove before disposing of it at your local recycling centre. Unfortunately, there is no replacement battery that you can fit. Big pity; like me, you'll have to buy a replacement appliance.

To extract the spent batteries, unscrew the base using the small spigot which is fitted into the rear of the upright docking station; pull out the battery carrier and lever out the individual rechargeable batteries.
