Oral Surgeon, whats better for swelling?

I had surgery yesterday @ 9 am and im wondering what would help better for swelling.........use ice packs or a heating pad,hot/warm-moist towel...................................... first day of surgery i used the ice pack...so the second and third day i should use what ....which is more effective for the swelling to go down???

  1. an anti-inflammatory is better for swelling, it decreases the swelling and that is where the pain is coming from.

  3. I think on the second day you are supposed to eat warm foods. When I had oral surgery I was told to put hot chocolate or hot water in my mouth and swish it around until the warmth goes away. Then you repeat.
