Oral hygiene!?

I really need some advice/cheering up because of my teeth... I recently found out I had cavaties (a lot!). So I'm kind of down. =/ My teeth weren't a problem for me until I went to the dentist and after that it started hurting (a lot!). So I got a few fillings on the right side of my mouth, but whenever I chew or bite down hard on that side there is this sharp pain. Is this normal or did the dentist **** up? Am I going to need to replace the filling or what because that's going to suck. Also, today my left side started hurting. Pretty soon I won't be able to eat hard food! So I need some help. I'm 15, I brush my teeth everyday maybe even twice a day sometimes. WTF DO I DO?!

  1. have the dentist check the filling, if it is to high (they did not smooth the filling down) your bite will bother you, they should have checked your bite before you left, we have the patient bite down on a red piece of  tape that marks where the filling is too high and we adjust it,  you can have your mouth get back into shape, get them fixed, and see your hygentist at least twice a year, brush and floss daily, also get some anticavity  rinse,(they sell it at walmart, next to mouthwash) and use it.  also ask for this toothpaste the dentist should have, it has prescription strenght flouride in it that you will use only at night, it is called control rx, we give it to our patients.

  2. Just keep regular brushing

  3. Well I'd have the dentist check out your fillings and see what's wrong w/ them...

And to prevent cavities you have to brush your teeth at LEAST twice a day and you said 'maybe' twice a day so that's probably why you're getting cavities. Flossing & using mouth wash helps a lot as well. :)

edit;; also make sure that you go to your dentist every 6-9 months.
