  1. Omg, definatly do not go there... look into your condition with a doctor... and umm, dont try to cheat with the whole s*x thing, its still just as bad. lol

  2. Obviously!

  3. By saying Genital Herpes i would assume you mean herpes2... yes??

The risks of contracting HSV2 on your mouth (orally) is a 2% chance.

The reasoning behind this is - HSV2 is primarily genital, and does not normally rest in the oral region. The other reason is if you have HSV1 you normally have some immunity to contracting HSV2 orally.

Herpes is a very confusing subject.

My husband has HSV2. And i have HSV1. We both have sexual intercourse as well as oral s*x regularly. I am yet to have a break out and so is he.

The safest way to go about oral s*x is to use protection. Also using suppressive therapy, and obviously avoiding sexual contact whilst having an outbreak.

You really need to weigh up your odds. If this partner of yours is someone who you plan on being with for the rest of your life... then what major complications are you both going to have if you contract HSV2 on your mouth???

By the way, if you do happen to have an outbreak orally, the chances of it reoccurring are extremely rare. Just remember you are still contagious, even without outbreaks.

EDIT: Learn all you can about herpes. the more you know the less you will worry about it. Also don't believe everything you read on these answers. I have just read a few and a lot of them are not facts.

  4. Yuck.

***To Mystacal......my yuck is because someone was careless enough to get herpes.   And I wonder how many times it was passed along from there.   AND  yuck because s*x is such a casual thing these days.    It's not right no matter what you say.

  5. yes its possible.

    do get some meds.

  6. i wouldn't do oral

  7. yes, you still have to possibility of getting it.

oral s*x is s*x, the same.

    it won't cause outbreaks, .

  8. Herpes can be spread even when you have no symptoms, no blisters, no tingly feeling in the skin.  So yes, if you and your partner engage in oral s*x, you can DEFINITELY transmit genital herpes to the other person's mouth.

A person who has oral herpes likewise can transmit the virus to their partners genitals even when they have no symptoms.

  9. If you both have genital herpes of the same type, then you both already have it and are extremely extremely unlikely to get it in a second location on your body, because once you are infected you start to produce antibodies. This usually prevents a second infection in a different place. Yes, it can happen, but most people who have the same kind of herpes in two places caught it in both places at the same time, and not in a second place a while after the first.

It really isn't worth worrying about. The only sensible precaution to take is to avoid contact when either of you have an outbreak. But even if you did have contact, your chance of catching it in the second place are not high. And nor would it cause an outbreak.

I have genital hsv-1 and my boyfriend has oral hsv-1 (I originally caught it genitally from his oral infection - I had never had oral herpes myself). We generally avoid contact when either of us have an outbreak, but we have quite often had intercourse while I have been experiencing symptoms, and I have kissed him while he has had a cold sore. Neither of us have caught the virus again, though obviously it is sensible not to take the risk.

The only thing that triggers outbreaks is your own immune system, not your partner having an outbreak.

I'd say, you both have it already, go ahead and have oral s*x, it really isn't a problem. We certainly don't avoid it!!

  10. You will get oral herpes if you preforme oral s*x on someone who ahs genital herpes

    So yes it will..

I suggest the use of a condom when preforming oral s*x

  11. it can be done if neither of you have outbreaks..but you have to be soo sure and so careful..check out the site mpwh.com..it is a great site for people with herpes...single or in couples...and lots of info..good luck

"Gracie"  why would you answer a question such as this if your only going to condemn?  go play somewhere else please if you don't have something constructive to say.

  12. If you love your "partner" you would still give him/her head

  13. I believe you have to come in contact with it before you could possibly get it, and that's only if the sores are active. If there are NO sores, you should be safe.

  14. Having worked in a hospital, I remember a woman who had a terrible outbreak of herpes around her mouth. Rare, but something to be concerned about.

  15. I wouldn't, but that's a personal opinion. I guess if you get some Herpecin L, it won't matter too much. It's pretty much up to you. Cold sores are nothing compared to G.H.

Definitely not during an outbreak, though.

  16. I BECAME INFECTED WITH HSV-2 FROM SOMEONE WHO NEVER HAD SIGNS OF IT NOR WAS AWARE THEY HAD HSV-2. ORAL s*x WAS PERFORMED FOR ALMOST A YEAR AND I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE HERPES TEST AND NONE HAVE COME BACK POSITIVE FOR HSV-1. JUST MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO LESIONS PRESENT IF YOU TAKE THIS ROUTE...DON'T LET HERPES CONTROL YOUR LIFE
