Oranda Lionhead Scales Going Brown?

Hey All,

I am a Tropical Fish keeper so Goldfish is new to me but anyway, i bought 2 Orandas about 4 weeks ago and they have been super up until this weekend. I cleaned the tank on Friday and then went away for the weekend and came back today to find over the weekend one of the Orandas scales has started to go brown.

Can anyone advise what i have done wrong, what the problem is and how to fix it.

you bought the orandas four weeks ago last friday is the first time you water change?  it could be amonia burn.     Add rocksalt with good aeration and do daily water change of 10 percent.

Do you have a filter? How big is the  tank? It could be ammonia building up, is the tank completely cycled? Also, as goldfish grow their colors tend to change. As long as he is acting normal and does not get white spots or White patches on him, you have nothing to worry about!
