Hi everyone, I will be going to Cal State LA in the Winter and was wondering how is the highway 5-N in the morning around 8-9 from Anaheim? Also how is the traffic back to Anaheim around 6-7? thanks!

  1. I don't know where you live in OC, but the route to CSLA is gonna be a killer any way you go. I-5 goes down to 3 lanes most of the way out of OC. If you live close to the 5, I would highly recommend the 91W to the 710N to the end at Valley Bl, then turn L. Downside: a lot of truck traffic on the 710, rough neighborhoods.

Looks like your best bet would be to take Metrolink (the train), which has a stop right at CSLA.. Even if it meant taking the 57N to Pomona, it still might be quicker and cheaper. Take a peek at this website for further details in this regard:

    http://metrolink.com/

Either google earth or MSN virtual earth will show you photos of the area.

    All the best.

  2. Yeah, I agree with thudfan, take Metrolink.  The station is right on the CSULA campus, and the train goes much faster than the packed freeway.

  3. Mornings, you will find slow traffic typically from Carmenitas through Paramount, heaviest around Imperial Highway.

Afternoons are slow typically from downtown to Slauson, and again slow Norwalk through Valley View.
