Orchestra or Balcony Seats?

I want to get the best view to see the wicket show in Buffalo. I looked at their seating charts, and it seems like the orchestra seats are closer to the stage compared to the balcony? but the balcony seats are more expensive than the orchestra seats. So which one should i buy?

  1. Odd that any balcony would be more expensive, but it depends on the type of theater/stage for decent views from those two areas.

Certainly Orchestra, 4th row center or closer even without an actual orchestra would be a stiff neck seat, and that might also depend on how high the stage level is from the seating floor.

I think I'd want to know that before choosing a seat, and ask why the balcony is more expensive.

In any case even front row, which always seemed silly to me, could be as much as 20 to 30 ft. from the actors on stage.

Not knowing the specific stage or layout of the seating, here in Q&A, it's a bit difficult to advise. Is this Wicket Show the name of the show or the theater? Does Buffalo have more than one live performance theater?

    just my 2 "scents"

  2. Well, it depends on if you want to hope you can see past someone, or KNOW you can.

Orchestra seating is a lot like movie theater seating...it's inclined but not a lot. Balcony, on the other hand, is more inclined.

Also, in most venues, orchestra seating is perfectly directed at the stage, where as the balcony seats wrap around, so you may have to crane your neck to one side or the other the whole show.

Personally, I prefer orchestra, but really it's your call.

  3. I prefer the orchestra, but that's just from the theatres I've been to.

With Wicked, a lot of the set pieces and scenes are more impressive from the orchestra. Especially the Wizard's Head and the end of the first act.
