Question:

Orchid identification?

I recently journeyed to mexico and in an orchid house i photographed a really unusual one. It is a light pink colour. It has large pink 'spiky' 'leaves' :P, and the rest of the orchid appears to look like it has numerous buds growing. It also has very few light purple [but not lilac] flower buds dotted on it. Not a very good description, but the best for an extremely wierdly shaped plant. The leaves are a deep dark green that have white all over in scratched on patches.

I know it is EXTREMELY hard to identify seeing as there are over 8600 types, but it's worth a shot. I don't think it is one of the most well known either.

I have tried to get an image of it on here but i do not know how. If anyone knows how you do this but not the question, that would help EVERYONE too, and i will add the image as extra infomation.

  1. Post the image in Picasa or some other photo sharing site, then post the link here. Like you say, it is impossible to tell anything from your description.

  2. I'm not sure what type of orchid it is because it doesn't look like an orchid.  I think it is a pink bromeliad:
