Injustice to child sexual assault victim !

First off, we live in Minnesota.

We (my husband and I) have been suspecting physical abuse for a while, not to mention the neglect in every way including medical (which she has been turned in for by a couple of different doctors at the clinic. .

Back in March was the first time she told us that he (mom's boyfriend) hurt her privates. Of course we took her to the doc, did a urine test to rule out bladder infection, did a full tox screen. Sheriff was called by doc but we were under the impression nothing was being done because Child Protection said they were doing nothing about it.

So this weekend, she spills her guts. Tells us of physical abuse by mom and mom's boyfriend and very detailed sexual abuse by mom's boyfriend. Did everything we should, filed a report with police and sheriff, contacted Child Protection, County Sheriff Dectective, and filed an OFP. Child Protection did nothing cuz my step daughter wouldn't tell them anything and the OFP gets dismissed because of "lack of evidence" (we can't afford an attorney and someone hired one for her lazy welfar ***) even though we had pics of bruises on her face and back, clinic records that show she had "rectal bleeding" and "scar tissue" at one visit, and "a slightly red" v****a at another visit, plus they found pot and trycialite anitdepressant in her system when they did the tox screen. Not to mention she is losing her hair, also had pics of bald spots all over her head (I believe it's stress related) and any medical reason was ruled out (had blood tests ect. done) And as far as what she told us, they called it "hear say". This child has had stranger anxioty (now we know why) since she was a baby. Not to mention the judge was a d**k. He made it very clear that he was not happy about being the judge on this case and also said "he was in a hurry" and even told me to "make it brief" when I was giving testimony. This little girl is a week away from being three years old and I have no idea how to protect her. Any suggestions?

  1. Contact all the lawyers in your area, tell them your situation. I would be surprised if one doesn't take you 'pro bono' (for free). This sounds like quite a big deal and will mostly likely get media coverage, especially if you already contacted police and saw a judge and they returned the child to the abusive home. Any lawyer will want to get their hands on this case as it will be good publicity for their practice. They will be able to file a lot more suits then you or I would even know the names of. It may end up being a technicality that eventually gets her out of that house, but at this point, who cars as long as she gets out.

if you cannot find a lawyer, contact your local newspaper or news station. Tell as many people as you can think of and eventually someone will do something.

Write your congressman and explain that the police won't do anything about a 3 year old girl who is being raped and abused.

As a completely last resort, just take the kid and run. I know it sounds horrible and crazy, and yes, you could get into some trouble. But trust me, I know from experience. Nothing messes you up more than serious physical /emotional/ and especially sexual abuse as a child. If you care for this child as it seems like you do. you cannot take no for an answer. Get her out of there as fast as possible.

Don't allow her to become another statistic.

    This website should help too.

Best of luck! What you are trying to do is completely wonderful and heroic. You are an angel.

  2. First off i would like to say how sorry i am about this little girl being put through h**l and back. I have seen victims of abuse where I work for years and my heart goes out to you. I don't know  the laws where you are but here in Chicago u can get help from the community programs and support groups they may have a better in site as to where u can go. You can also look for legal aid. its not free but u can still check it out. Do a distress ad on www.craigslist.com to see if any lawyers in you area can help you.

Send a letter to the head of your State's attorney's office and ask for his help threaten to to the press, that usually helps. they don't like the Media giving them h**l. you can also go you your local media and tell them anyway and see if you can get some air time.

there are thousands of ways to get this case noticed. It just depends on you making the choice effort to put them on blast and risk public embarrassment

sorry if I ran away this this but I'm rather sleepy Nite!

  3. if i were you i would take a shot gun and blow the **** out of them. or better yet when they get jailed let the people in prison know why they are there! i hate ******* like that

  4. all one can say is kill them but then that puts the child in more danger. go back to the child protection and demand that something gets done. i know with the DOCS Department Of Community Services. thats in Australia. if thy get a emergency call no matter what time of the day they are supposed to act. go for a higher court and bring in all the evidence you have from the hospital and dr's. also in australia police aren't the ones that interview children it's the DOCS workers they build a relationship with the children and then start to ask them questions relating to the incidents so they aren't so afraid. so maybe you could video tape you talking to the child and have that on video and have the video show the marks on the child and ask who did that darling? and see what you get and then approach your solicitor to see if that is sufficiant..

all i can think about is how scared the little darling is with everything happening.

if not approach your local news paper as a last resort with some pictures not identifying the child or parents for legal reasons and bring up the matter that your local child protection isn' doing anything to prevent these horrible acts even tho you have evidence..

maybe going to the local paper you might get sympathy from someone in the legal proffession to help represent you financially

all i can say is hold onto that baby tight and don't give her back to her mother and then she will have to get orders to get her back.... then you bring up the issue of the child's abuse..

    GOOD LUCK
