Ordering a HP Pavilion dv6700t to use for school, downloading songs, pics, vids. Was wondering if the specs below are up to par.

-Vista Home Premium

-Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T5750 (2.0GHz)

-2GB DDR2 System Memory

-Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator X3100

-120GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive

Thanks for any help!!!

  1. good, if u like hd space, but get 3gb ram, and if u can nvidia or ati graphox card, other wose great

  2. I think  it's quite okay, but the bad one is the GMA X3100. It can run Aero well, but not for gaming.

  3. yeah those would probably be par for those purposes. you may want a little more RAM (maybe 3GB) if you're a multi-tasker or if you're going to run memory heavy applications (e.g. photoshop cs3 etc.) If you're going to upgrade RAM, then you might as well upgrade your processor if possible to 2.4+ GHz... [basically you should upgrade both or none just because its more logical]

and for songs, pictures, and videos... you may need a larger hard drive (depends on how much you use; I have a 500 GB external, so I just relax and enjoy the luxury XD), although excellent choice with the 5400RPM SATA.

  4. Average spec for a laptop, nothing stands out or unusual.
