So, we're watching Ordinary People in my Psychology class and I think my teacher might ask us this stuff b/c we're learning about families:

- Which dysfunctional family type are they? Why?

- Dysfunctional family roles?

- Which character played the role? Why? Conrad?

  1. The mother was the problem. She displayed tendencies of narcissism...she displayed tendencies of lack of emotions for anyone. Her level of love was with herself alone. Watch carefully and listen for the part about the shoes at the funeral. The husband eventually recognizes just how unloving and uncaring she is..the whole family suffered due to her. Connie was the one who suffered the most..he took the blame for his brother's death and he was blameless. His suicidal attempt was because he was blaming himself for everything. Very sad movie but a good one to watch for psychological issues...
