Ordinary World By Duran Duran Sung by a Female artist?

I was at a friends a few days ago and on the radio we heard Duran Duran's Ordinary World being sung by a female artist but I didn't catch her name and would like to know if anyone might know who she was. Sorry for the little bit of information but it is truly all I have.

Yeah, I know Katharine McPhee did a version, I've heard that version too, but what version did you hear? If you could describe the song, I might be able to help :)
