Do you do school work all week? Or can you just do everything in one day?

Do you mail in your assignments? Does it matter where you live in oregon or does it just matter if you have internet and a computer? also will they give you all the supplies?

how do you sign up for it and is there a waiting list?

  1. The first place to visit is the Connections Academy website at http://www.connectionsacademy.com but I also recommend that you take a look at the Oregon Charter Schools group on yahoo (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OR_Charter... for more help and answers to other options available in Oregon.

    To specifically answers your questions:

    1.  Assignment due dates are generally worked out with the teacher assigned to the student, so while most are daily, exceptions do exist.

    2. Assignments are turned in online.

    3. Yes, for the Oregon Connections Academy, you must live in Oregon.

    4. You do have to have Internet access, but the school provides computers and a printer to students in grades K-8. Higher grades provide their own computer but there are scholarships available for both Internet access and the equipment. All other needed supplies are provided by the school.

    5. You can register at the first website listed. There is generally not a waiting list for this school, but there are other schools too.

  2. Most of these questions only the school can answer.  You should attend one of their open house sessions, along with your parents.

I would imagine you school all week - or have a bit of flexibility in your schedule.  CA is a virtual school, so you most likely submit your work online.  Yes, for an Oregan virtual school, since it's a *public* school, you must live in the state and pay property taxes to a public school district.  They should send all of your materials (minus common household/school items) and also a computer.  You'll have to visit the school's website for registration dates and ask them if there's a wait list and/or a lottery system.

I would strongly suggest looking at an alternative to CA, which is ORVA.  The curriculum is much stronger.

We've used the K12 curriculum they use for 5.5 yrs and it is fantastic.
