I'm 14 years old and i want to get a working permit. I've read about them, and i know what jobs they'd allow me to do and not do. Problem is, i don't know how to go about acquiring one. How do i get one?

  1. Permits are not required any more.  According to the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries' 2008 Employment of Minors poster:

"Child labor laws protect young people in the work force. Although minors are no longer required to have permits, they, their parents and employers should be aware of laws and regulations applying to young people, ages 14-17 and the kinds of jobs and working hours that are allowed."

However, any employer you apply with will have to have a certificate.
