  1. Prepare goals and objectives for all department staff

Responsible for Performance Management, Planning, and Appraisals to ensure staff performing job responsibilities to expedite release of tissue for transplant in compliance with TBI/NEBC SOPs and regulatory agencies.

Interview and hire department staff with approval NEBC Director Ops

Assign duties and responsibilities performed by staff, assuring training per SOPs

Resolve complex issues referred by staff

Oversee and manage NEBC Tissue Suitability Department operations, including all facets of tissue suitability, including accepting, receiving, evaluating, releasing and distributing tissue, and follow up on tissue suitability issues as they arise.

    Distribute tissue per TBI policy.

Assist in writing, organizing and maintaining NEBC SOPs.

Function as Administrator on Call to screen suitability related questions and handle staff and facility related issues.

Develop, implement and maintain effective logistical planning to meet expectations, and maintain and consistently improve quality with bottlenecks minimized.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Adhere to Core Performance Standards

  2. Generally, such duties fall to surgeons, surgical assistants and/or surgically-trained physician assistants.   You can check with local organ procurement teams or services, maybe they can have some other advice or direction.

But, I would think that nursing or PA school would be in your future.
