  1. It is getting easyier to find. I've seen them in many stores, REI has a line, and Target just started stocking a few items. To websites that have links to other websites are www.biggreenpurse.com and www.treehugger.com

  2. bestonnet, you seem very confused.  The term organic has two VERY different meanings when applied to agriculture or chemistry.  Saying DDT is organic, and implying it would be used in organic farming, is completely wrong.

Organic farming (and federal law) do not allow the use of DDT in agriculture.  Implying otherwise is misguided at best, and deceptive at worst.  The term organic in reference to agriculture means no synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, etc. are used.  The term organic in reference to chemistry means all (most) chemicals which include Carbon in their chemical formula.  They have COMPLETELY different meanings depending on context.

  3. redheadedfrog.com

  4. It's a waste of money.

'Organic' food and cloth is actually worse for the environment because it requires higher land usage due to lower productivity (the biggest environmental effect of farming is habitat destruction) and the pesticides allowed for 'organic' farming often tend to be worse than the ones that aren't allowed (but which conventional farmers will use instead).

Not to mention Genetic technology that allows crops to be tailored to require less pesticides, fertiliser and grow in places they normally wouldn't be able to grow (along with emit less greenhouse gases in the process of growing) and the whole 'organic' nonsense really starts to look like a bad idea.

Remember that DDT is an organic chemical.

  5. Check this online store

  6. Wearing organic clothing is very important because 25% of the world’s pesticides are sprayed on cotton, causing devastation to our land, air, water and the health of people living in conventional cotton-growing areas. The simple act of growing and harvesting the one-pound of cotton fiber needed to make a T-shirt takes an enormous toll. As for stores that carry organic clothing the Life is Good store has a great selection. But mostly organic clothes are sold online.
