  1. I am not quite sure what Mary is speaking about. I am a certified Nutritionist in Pediatric Nutrition and as long as you feed your child properly, home made baby foods using organically grown produce will never cause starvation in a child. You simply have to follow regualr feeding guidelines. I would however avoid processed organic baby foods, as these tend to lack some nutrition.

As far as other things you can do, use your imagination! I always praise the value of cloth diapers... specifically Tiny Tush Elite. They end up being easier to use (you never run out!) and much cheaper in the long run. For wipes, use some flannel cloth and soak it is witch hazel and water mixture. And for a diaper ointment, stay away from commercial products and use good ol' olive oil, it mimics sebum (the natural oils of the skin). With 4 kids, I never had one diaper rash to deal with using olive oil and cloth diapers.

  2. DO NOT give your baby organic food unless you consult a physician first. Food that can be fine for us adults and give us adequite nutrition can be starving and depriving your baby. There have been lawsuits where a baby is taken from its parents for nothing other than them being ignorant and "accidentally" starving the baby.

If you know what you're doing, I still don't think its a good idea. Its not natural for a baby.
