  1. have different shapes put in a bag. have a child close their eyes. let them reach in the bag and pick out an item. they cant peek. have them describe the shape how it feels is there any pointy ends on it etc...while they are touching it tell them  to get a visual in their minds. have them guess what it is. you could also use the alphabet, numbers, etc. you could use wood, plastic, foam or cardboard items. this enhances and stiumulate their senses.

  2. Do you have to make displays or organize a given display?

Either way, you want the display to be at a child's height and made of safe materials that won't come off and/or fail the toilet tube test for choking.

Then, make the visual display with bright colors, shapes, and varying sizes. Tactile requires a variety of textures: fake fur, satin, sandpaper, new meat tray with bumps or bubble wrap for bumpy, a piece of wood for rough or hard, metal, foil, or a plastic mirror for shiny, etc.

It is usually best in displays to make them to a theme--you could combine both visual and tactile to these themes:

    Circus

    Farm

    Hospital Workers

    Transportation

I hope this helps your ideas to start flowing. Good luck.

  3. Colorful Alphabet letter cut outs of different sizes and of different textures (wood, foam, plastic, rubber).   The colors will attract the child.  The shapes will allow the child to familiarize with the letters because she/he can see (visual) and feel (tactile) them.   You can also use magnet letters and have the children display them on a board.

  4. through song and various bright colors.
