Organisers of Korean GP claim the 2011 race will be far more entertaining than 2010 – Formula 1 news
According to Korean Auto Valley Operation, the 2011 Korean Grand Prix is going to be much more entertaining than the 2010 race as the organisers have improved the track and the surroundings largely.
As a result, the atmosphere of the Korean Grand Prix is now going to be even better compared to last year.
“Many of our managerial shortcomings were exposed regarding issues in parking, transportation and accommodation,” the managing company, KAVO said in a statement.
Other than that, they claim that they have improved the surroundings outside of the track as a result of which they have ensured an entertaining and comforting race this year for the audience.
“We have wrapped up all preparations for a successful event,” Park Joon-Young, the KAVO chief executive, said in the statement.
The 2010 Korean Grand Prix was held in a big rush as the organizers had to meet a lot of deadlines and the officials of Formula 1 were also unable to check the track thoroughly due to time constraints. As a result, the ambience expectations of the crowd
were not satisfactory at all.
The track looked more like a road in the middle of a construction site which is not impressive for the audience and the people who come to watch the sport.
Besides that, the track’s foundation was also settling in back then and it was quite slippery since the solution had not settled back then.
However, many claim that the track’s slippery nature is a part of the characteristics of the venue but that would be more evident this year as the race is expected to take place on October 16, 2011, just a week after the Japanese Grand Prix which is going
to take place at the legendary Suzuka circuit.
Since the championship has already wrapped up, the remaining 6 races of the season are not going to be as entertaining as the first couple of races as the teams will not really push it for the win as they did in the first couple of races.
