Question:

Organizing a Teen Bedroom?

Oh my god. I just started middle school (7th grade) and my room is always so messy! I can never find the things I need. It's such a bore looking for volleyball shorts in the morning, or the math page I did last night. Does anyone know any good ways to keep organized and having a clean room? Thank you for the time. I would also take any links to sites.

Spend one hour  tossing trash, dealing with laundry--clean and dirty, and organizing your stuff.  Then plan to spend 10-15 minutes each night getting your act together for the next day.  Most bedrooms have 4 walls and a closet.  Take one section each day and make it the best you can in 15 minutes.  Pick one spot--desk bookcase whatever, and make it your "launchpad"  Put your school work, back pack, etc there

every time you bring it into your room; don't let anything go there except what you need for school.  You will organize yourself in no time at all.

  2. large storage space is the most thing you need. don't leave but much space blanck, use them, hide most things in your cabinets.

some girl's room for you refer:

  3. although I don't always stay up to par with my cleaning, i mostly stick to plastic drawers.  I'd use those vaccuum bag things on tv, but most of my things I use on a regular basis, so yeah wouldn't wanna be hassled with sealing items on a daily basis lols.  While on the drawer i always set my most used items at the top ones, then the least used on the bottom.  Of course if the item is too large it just goes in a bottom on or sits on top of the drawer.

Idk what kind of items you have, so idk what kind of drawers to suggest.  Just always checkwhatever type of drawer ur buying to see if it has a weight limit, some of the "cheapy" ones can't support too much.

  4. Craft Stores sell boxes that you can get to match your room decor and stack neatly. You can use plastic bins, shoe boxes, laundry baskets and label them for different things: Homework, Sports, Etc.

A good habit to start now at your age is to pick up things as you go so that they do not pile up into a huge mess later on. Sometimes a clean room makes a clean mind and stress-free spirit. The less clutter and chaos in your life, the better you will feel.  Hope this helps
