Organizing ideas...?

The top of the refrigerator....two cabinets, set back, what is so useless but worth keeping in a hard to reach location?

Do I keep the top of the frige empty so it's a little easier to access those cabinets?

Should I store something in it non-kitchen related?

Thanks!

  1. It is a good place for storing items you don't use often like holiday dishes or to keep items away from children like alcohol.

I have a wooden basket that i keep bread in on top of my fridge which is both handy and attractive looking and still

allows easy access to the cabinets.

  2. I can visualize this easily as I have the same situation.

We keep stuff up there that is not used very often.  Stuff like summer picnic supplies, disposable plates and cutlery, even non-kitchen items that need to be out of the way and are not used often are good to store up there.

One of the main principles of organization is to keep things handy and close to where they are used if they are in regular use.  So this is the perfect place to put things that are not used regularly because it is hard to get at them.  Can you imagine how frustrating it would be to actually have to get something from that cabinet everyday!!

BTW you will need a step stool or a very tall husband to get in there!  So keep one handy!
