Question:

Origami in popular culture?

Hi. I'm wondering about instances where origami was used in popular culture. By that I mean what movies, books, video games, comics, and TV shows use origami in some sort of prominent role. Is there anything in popular culture where there is sentient origami (it's an origami figure character that can think or speak) or has living origami (the origami figure can move on its own).

Is there anything at all where origami is alive/sentient/a character/used prominently in TV, Film, Books, Comics or Games? If so, what are all the instances you know of?

Thanks!

  1. I know that many books regarding the people who suffered in the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings have themes or events related to origami.  However, I don't believe that that is quite popular culture.

    Go to Japan, lol
