I have the tivo series two and love it. since everything is going to digital I won't be able to use it. I bought the lifetime agreement too. I have dish network, hate it and hate the dvr. It is not better than tivo. For people like me who have the lifetime agreement with a tivo that can't go digital, is tivo giving a refund or a credit for a new box. I signed an agreement that would last till my box died. My box is still kicking and it isn't our fault that tv has changed to all digital or atleast will be soon. I would figure that since in the contract nothing like this is stated that tivo should be giving a refund or atleast a credit.

  1. makes sense why they gave  a lifetime garuntee on an anolog device lol

call them up and say its defective and see if you can get a new "digital one" out of them or it may be digital call them and ask

  2. >since everything is going to digital

Not the way you think it is.The 2/17/09 shutdown only effects over the air broadcasts and has nothing to do with cable or satellite TV

If you have a dual tuner series 2, it will still work directly with analog cable and with digital cable boxes using the IR blaster that came with the Tivo.

If you have a single tuner series two, it will still do all of the above plus Tivo has already announced it will support some over the air converter boxes using the IR blaster.
