Orignal passport for visa cancellation?

i went on medical leave from uae and after one month i send resign.now i send my orignal passport to company for visa cancellation.pls let me know it will take how long,and there is any chance that company refuse to send my passport back.

You must have kept a photocopy of your passport signed by the representative of the office where you gave your passport.
