Oriol Romeu looking to cement his spot in the Chelsea squad
Chelsea’s twenty year old holding midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oriol-c28659 Romeu has gone on to admit that he wishes to cement his spot in the Blues starting eleven.
The midfielder was signed by the London based club in August from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and since then, he has gone on to adapt to life in the Premier League.
The player has only managed to make eleven appearances for the team so far, but has impressed in each and every one of the outings that he made for the team.
The player is now looking towards the game against Manchester City as an opportunity for him to cement his spot in the squad. However the player hopes for the Blues to maintain the form that displayed against Valencia, as they take on Manchester City on Monday night.
“The City game is a great chance to show everyone what we can do when we are playing well, against the league leaders.”
Romeu also believes that a wing over City would prove the team’s worth and would be a sign of the team’s intentions for the remainder of the season.
“If we win, it will prove that we are still fighting for the league.”
Following his comments about the game against Chelsea, the midfielder went on to admit that he came to London, in order to acquire more field time.

Despite his earlier intentions, Romeu has grown accustomed to life in the Premier League and hopes to help Chelsea go as far as he possibly can take them, while developing as a player himself.
“I really like the style here. I liked watching it on TV before and I like it even more now, playing in it. It is a different kind of football - more physical, with more contact and quicker.”
Given the way Mikel has been playing recently, it is safe to say that Romeu is going to slowly work his way into the team and should he produce some brilliant performances, he could even sideline http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Essien-c25294, once he returns from his lengthy layoff.
