Orlando's Dwight Howard and Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge named NBA’s Players of the Month, February
After giving sensational performances in February, LaMarcus Aldridge and Dwight Howard have been named the National Basketball Association’s players of the month for February. The players were conferred with the titles on 2 March, 2011.
Aldridge, NBA’s athlete, who plays forward / center position for Portland Trail Blazers, was announced NBA’s Western Conference’s Player of the Month, February. The 25-year-old made an average of 27.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.7 steals along with 1.6 blocks in his February games. Moreover, he took his team to a sizzling victory over the League’s best team, San Antonio Spurs and also contributed to their big wins over New Orleans Hornets, Chicago Bulls and Denver Nuggets.  
After being awarded, Aldridge became the third player from the franchise, Portland Trail Blazers to be honoured with the Player of the Month title.
The player took the team to new heights by becoming Portland’s first ever player to score 36 points in three games in a row. The athlete also clinched a career-high 42 points in Blazers’ 109-103 victory against Chicago Bulls. The player also notched 40 points in an explosive 99-86 win over San Antonio Spurs.
The 6’11” player was excited after being awarded and acknowledged his coach and teammates.
“It's an honor to be named player of the month, something I will always remember. But I wouldn't have won it without my teammates and coaches, and I want to thank them as we work to build on last month's success and focus on making a playoff run,” he said.
Howard, who plays centre position for Orlando Magic was announced Eastern Conference’s Player of the Month for the second time this season. The player had the honour of receiving the title sixth time in his career, which is a big achievement both for the player and the team.
The player had a superb 14.8 rebounds per game and led the Eastern Conference with that score. He recorded a conference high .667 field goal percentage en route the title. The player also averaged 1.2 assists per game, 1.36 steals and 2.0 blocks in the matches he played. The player recorded double-doubles in every game he played in February.
The five-times NBA All-Star grabbed a minimum 15 rebounds in seven out of 11 games the previous month. The player also played three games in which he scored at least 30 points and 15 rebounds.
The player marked his best performance in the win over Oklahoma City Thunder when he scored a whopping 40 points, 15 rebounds and had six blocks. Orlando Magic scored a massive 111-88 victory and the superstar center had this to say:
 “If you concentrate on winning a championship, everything we want as individuals will come with that." 
And indeed, after achieving the game’s grandest individual awards, he has cemented his name at the top of the heap.
