Orlando Magic - NBA teams which can become strong by acquiring Josh Smith (Part-1)
The Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith has spent almost seven years in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and still playing with massive energy and athleticism. Smith, who is still regarded as one of the speediest player in
the league, has also some huge potential to lead many other teams in the NBA. His time at the Hawks has given him very vital experience which will always help him in the future. Smith, along with many other NBA players is listed to be traded next season but
the lockout in the league is barring their trades. As soon as the lockout ends in the league, the Hawks will certainly trade Josh Smith to create a little salary gap for them which is exceeding every season.
On the other hand, many basketball experts have also speculated about Smith’s next teams and his potential talent which can be beneficial to these sides. These teams include the Orlando Magic, New Jersey Nets, Denver Nuggets, Dallas
Mavericks, and the Chicago Bulls. These five NBA teams are certainly top teams in the league and the potential arrival of Josh Smith into their teams will give them a huge thrill with extreme confidence to win the prized Larry O’ Brien Trophy.
Orlando Magic:
The Orlando Magic is certainly one of the top teams in the league with a history of extreme fighting spirit. Their overall team performance has inspired many in the league but last year’s performance could not help them much. They
lost early in the last season’s playoffs. Although, their overall performance in the 2010-2011 regular season was pretty consistence, but they could not manage to carry forward their persistence performance in the post season and lost bitterly in the first
round.
The Magic looked aggressive early in the season as their top players were also in great form. They qualified fourth overall from the Eastern Conference after the Boston Celtics. From beginning to end, the Magic still has no idea
what went wrong in their post season’s performance where they remain unable to compete with full thrust.
Meanwhile, the league has locked its players over labour unrest with the Players Association and until the lockout ends in the league, no team is allowed to make changes in their roster. The Magic are certainly frustrated on their
past year’s performance and trying their best to make a best strategy to show their valour in the next season. The entire Magic management is busy in this offseason and planning to make a comeback with full force. They main focus is to strengthen their current
roster and give them more confidence as they can compete at highest level and against every opponent in the league.
However, some reports have suggested as the Orlando Magic is in serious pursuit of Josh Smith in this offseason. His relation with the Hawks is not looking fine as the Hawks also do not want him in the next season. They want to
release some of the high salary pressure which is exceeding every season and trading Smith is a viable to lose their salaries load.
On the other hand, the current Magic roster is not good as they used to be in the past seasons. The only superstar they have in their roster is Dwight Howard. Howard, who will also be an unrestricted agent after the next season,
is planning to leave the Magic. The Magic management is also considering all these factors under their consideration and planning to make a futuristic move for their franchise. They do not want to waste any-time and planning to bring some other players into
their roster to keep the line-up intact for future seasons.
Josh Smith will not only bring some experience into the Orlando Magic, but his extra athleticism and quick ball play will also provide some extra offensive edge to the Magic. He has an excellent command over his long range shooting
and point scoring.
