Orlando Magic surge late to claim a dramatic 93-90 victory over Milwaukee Bucks – NBA Recap
For the 3rd time in 10 days, Orlando Magic out gunned Milwaukee Bucks, this time 93-90, by using a late surge in the fourth quarter.
Dwight Howard led Orlando with a game high 28 points and 16 boards while guard Jameer Nelson netted 15. Hedo Turkoglu canned 13, Glen Davis was also in the mix with 12 points and with 11 points J.J. Redick played his role in Magic’s
21st victory of the season.
Brandon Jennings remained the highest scorer for Milwaukee as he poured in 22 points along with Mike Dunleavy, who netted 18 and had 6 rebounds coming off the bench. Ersan Ilyasova pounded 15 and had 15 rebounds while Larry Sanders
had 13 points and 12 boards.
Magic opened the game with a 7-4 run that was answered by Leuer’s dunk. Things didn’t remain close as Anderson’s 3-pointer instigated an 8-4 run for Orlando, pushing them ahead by 15-10.
The Bucks neutralized the lead on a Jennings 4 point play. It was followed by a tip in from Ilyasova taking a narrow 16-15 advantage with 05:14 in hand. The game kept on shifting momentum and inside the last two minutes of the
quarter the Magic were in the lead at 22-20.
The Bucks pulled of 9-2 run at that point, stretching their lead to 29-24 with only 45.3 seconds in hand. The Magic however concluded the segment with three free throws to make it 29-27.
Orlando tied the score at 31 each early and mostly maintained the advatage in a closely fought quarter that ended at 49-48. Milwaukee redeemed the deficit with an early 7-2 run in 3rd quarter, taking a 55-51 advantage.
Orlando came back with a 7 – 2 of their own though to make it 58-57. The Bucks however finished strongly and rounded off the third quarter with a 70-67 lead.
Orlando reeled off 8-0 spurt early in the 4th period and clawed off the deficit to go ahead at 75-70. Buck responded swiftly and knocked two 3-pointers in a 8-0 run that reversed the lead,78-75, 07:24 on the clock. Milwaukee
kept the foot on the gas and were leading by 86-81 going into the last three minutes of the game, before Orlando pulled away with a game winning 12-4 run.
