Orlando Pirates Ruud Krol delighted with his team’s Premier Soccer League triumph
Orlando Pirates coach, Ruud Krol, has expressed his delight after his side were able to grab the Premier Soccer League title on Saturday, May 21. Pirates defeated http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maritzburg-United-c39868, who were able to hold Ajax Cape Town to a 2-2 draw.
Krol mentioned that the game was very tough and his players showed a lot of character and belief going into the game. The 62-year-old insisted that the team lacked a bit in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 difficult task for the players to make a comeback. He praised his entire team who stood firm in that difficult period and not only managed to win the game but also won the League.
The manager enthused that his side have learned a lot from the past two seasons and it was evident during the game against Arrows. He was pleased to see his side putting all the experience together and also thanked the fans who came out in numbers to support their side.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Egypt-c2890 manager added, "Of course, all the players became more experienced, but the most important thing is that everybody got used to the system. We managed to pull through our problems with that experience. Sometimes we lost important players, like Daine (Klate) and Moeneeb (Josephs) but we had reserve players and we fought hard for everything.”
Krol further told that he kept on reminding his side that nothing is lost at the moment and they could still win the League. He also referred towards the points table saying that it has been a trend from the past few years that the team who is on top going into the last game never wins a League and the same happened here.
He, though, reserved praise for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ajax-Cape-Town-c38250, who were certainly favourites to win but finished runners-up only because of an inferior goal difference.
Krol concluded by saying, "I told my players that we deserved it as we worked hard for it, but it was a difficult match; very competitive but we were lucky that we scored that winning goal that brought us the championship. Hopefully we can continue with this next week but of course the Nedbank Cup Final will not be an easy match."
