i just bought a complete set of Orlimar clubs and i really like the look and feel of them. the only problem is that i havent really seen much of this brand around. i know its not a top brand like nike or anything but i see RAM coming out w/ like 100 clubs and they r solf everywhere.

simple question is does anyone know if Orlimar is a good brand and should i worry about every swing and hope it doesnt break the shaft.?

  1. there pretty good i think. there not cheap in price, are they? i think there are a few pros that have some orlimar woods in there bag

  2. Breaking Shafts should not be a problem.    Most shafts today are made by just a few actual manufacturers.....just different labels on the product.  Orlimar was the Buzz a few years ago with their Maraging Steel faces....since then Technology has exploded.  Still a sound club though.

  3. Orlimar is a very good brand.  They were a very reputable brand a couple of years ago until they went into a financial trouble.  And then started last year, I started seeing a resurection.  I hit their new driver late last year and almost bought it on the spot.

  4. Orlimar is a decent club maker. A few yrs ago they were pretty well known with their tri metal or wutever it was technology. As mentioned earlier a few pros do play Orlimar. They've since fallen a bit as far as notoriety but they are def not on the same level as "Walmart" brands like Ram. I'm sure they are solid clubs, don't worry about the brand. Orlimar makes quality equipment. As long as u like swinging them it doesn't matter.

  5. Remember from your high school physiccs class that the longer lever, the greater the force? It's OK if you do not remember, because I am reminding you now. With a longer club, applying the same amount of power, you will be able to generate more club head speed. The result will be a longer shot. Going back to high school physics again, the loft of the club face will determine the angle at which the ball bounces off the club face. Picture the extension of the magnet on the club face as representing the initial flight of the ball.

To gain a graphic perspective of the loft, or slant, of club faces, set a tee on the face of the club, with the flat end of the tee on the face. For the purpose of illustration we have placed a magnet on the club faces of a 10 iron and 4 iron.

In most sets there will be a difference of four degrees of loft between clubs progressively through the set.

So, in other words, the higher the number of the club, the higher the ball will go, and since the energy is going up, the distance the ball travels will be less. As the number of the club gets lower, the flight of the ball progressively gets lower and the distance the ball travels increases. Also, as the number of the club gets lower, the club progressively gets longer.
