Ortensia achieves her goals in the 2012 season
Ortensia seems to have achieved her goals in the 2012 season and she can now return to Australia with her head high. She is a quality performer and has made her team proud on numerous occasions. She should now relax and return with the same venom next year
in order to challenger her rivals at the highest level.
Overall, the seven-year-old mare has got a very good record, as she has managed to win races with consistency throughout her career. Her strike rate is on the higher side, which is a positive sign and her ability to be competitive on most of the times makes
her a bigger threat than some of the other stallions.
Paul Messara, trainer of the talented mare, has been delighted with what she has managed to achieve this year and she will be hoping of similar fortunes in 2013 as well.
The young trainer was confident about the chances of Ortensia and she continued the hard work in order to rise above others.
Due to this, the Australian runner managed to win three races this year, out of which two came in Group-1 events. This is quite a positive sign for her and she will definitely be strong in the coming years as well.
Ortensia started her 2012 campaign on a positive note, as she succeeded in a Group-1 event at Meydan in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This was her first outing of the year and there was a lot of pressure on her shoulders. Despite that, she stayed calm
and delivered a strong result, upsetting Sole Power.
Testa Rossa’s daughter followed that up with one Group-2 victory and then she was once again sent to compete at the highest level against some very good runners at York.
However, Messara remained positive about the chances of her runner and said that things were headed in the right direction for her. She admitted that the weather has played its part in helping Ortensia deliver good results this year.
However, the seasoned mare was unable to make a strong impression in her most recent race, despite being rated as the favourite to succeed. She deserves some rest now and she should then come out with all guns blazing next year.
