Ortensia likely to win King´s Stand Stakes
Ortensia is expected to prevail in the King´s Stand Stakes (British Champions Series & Global Sprint Challenge) (Group 1) at Ascot in England on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. A cash prize of £198,485 will be awarded to the class-1 winner.
The track conditions will be good to soft in the 5 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 15:05 GMT. A total of 23 runners have been attracted towards the event and their names are as follows: Bated Breath, Ortensia, Wizz Kid, Sole Power, Little Bridge,
Joy And Fun, Prohibit, Margot Did, Spirit Quartz, Tangerine Trees, Masamah, Amour Propre, Hamish Mcgonagall, Ponty Acclaim, Stone Of Folca, Bapak Chinta, Dinkum Diamond, Medicean Man, Monsieur Joe, Secret Asset, Stepper Point, Caledonia Lady and Night Carnation.
There are some very good runners taking part in the race, thus it will be a difficult decision for the punters to select their favourite. However, the experience and recent form of Ortensia suggests that she will walk away with a comfortable win today.
The seven-year-old mare has participated in 30 events, winning 11 of them and finishing runner up on three times. In addition to that, she has also secured the third place on four occasions, which proves that she is fully capable of fighting at the front.
Importantly, the Paul Messara’s trainee has been delivering some terrific results over the past few months. She has won three back to back events and is carrying an excellent momentum right now.
The track conditions at Ascot will definitely favour Ortensia, who will be partnered by young jockey, Craig A. Williams, who will be eagerly looking forward to the race. He is a very talented rider and will attract a lot of bets in his favour.
On the other hand, the bookies have shown more confidence in the ability of Wizz Kid, who is carrying a decent momentum right now. She has entered 10 races, winning three of them and finishing runner up on a couple of occasions.
The four-year-old filly managed to win her most recent race, thus there is a solid chance for her to challenge Ortensia. She will be partnered by Gerald Mosse, who is relatively new to the sport.
