What sort of education is required to become an orthodontist's assistant? I'm not really finding any job specific courses to take at my local college. I'm currently a medical assistant but I would love to learn more about dentistry-im looking for a change!

  1. You need to be a registered dental assistant.  Try looking into your local community college for the schooling, it's much much more affordable than a private college such as Western.  I just graduated and took my state boards this past week!  My program lasted a year.  Good luck

  2. I think it depends on the state you live in. You should call your state board of Dental Examiners office. They should be able to give you the information on what is required.
