Orthodontic bands, not the rubber bands?

I have spacers and I'm going to get the bands in two days. What happens in the process in getting them? What exactly do they do to put the bands on?

Remember: Not the rubber bands, the bands that go around your molars.

  1. If you're talking about the metal bands that go in the back 4 molars what they do is:

    1) they dry your teeth so the glue will stick

    2) then they place the band over the tooth and press it down [there'll be glue on it and it tastes real bad so keep your tounge far back]

    3) they'll have a tool and they'll place in on the band and have you bite down so it goes around your tooth

    4) then they'll have like a heating tool to dry the glue [you'll wear like protection glasses maybe so the light doesn't hurt your eyes or something]

and that's it i think, then they put the wire on.

That's how it's done at my ortho.
