Orthodontic spacers?

My teeth were crowded and crooked so I needed braces. They put the spacers on without pulling any teeth out so my teeth feels like it's getting MORE crowded. It feels like my teeth are gonna fall out. And when I try to close my mouth, it really hurts. Is this normal?

yes in fact i had them like i guess two weeks ago it will stop after like a week now i have an expander at the top of my mouth trust me u want the spacers unless u wantt metal in between your teeth crowded

Yes, the spacers move your teeth around to prepare them for braces.  Your teeth may get a bit loose and very sore, but they won't fall out.  

When you get braces, the pain will be even worse, and your teeth will be more sore; teeth will be a TINY bit loose with braces since they are moving.  Just bear with it for now and eat soft foods.
