Orthokeratology Lenses help!!?

Ok so i got these lenses that when i wear them at night, they're supposed to improve my vision during the day. So my normal prescription is -7.50 and my optomotrist gave me -7.00 contacts to use the night after i've used my Ortho-K lenses. The problem is, when i use my -7.00 lenses it still feels like i'm looking out of a -7.00 lenses with a -7.50 perspective (i hope this made sense lol). So i tried my -7.50 lenses back on and they feel blurry (kind of like my -7.00). Should i just wait it out and try it for another night to see if it gets better or is there something else i should do?

  1. I can't help you with your problem, but would just like to add that it is very surprising to see the use of ortho K lenses with such a high prescription.

It is normally used only up to about a - 4.00 with success...sometimes up to -5.00 but more rare.

Over that , glasses still have to be used to make up the difference...such as a - 3.00 in your case , if the lenses will only correct the normal 4 to 4.50

It would be very interesting to hear from you again if they do work for you with an Rx that high.

    EDIT*****

    Thankyou, that's good to know.

I'm not in contact with any optometrists who do ortho K treatments.

And I haven't seen anything about that on web searches, or in our industry newsletters and magazines.

Technologie changes so fast, it's hard to keep up with sometimes.

  2. The first few days your eyes do change significantly and the soft lenses he gave you to use during the interim will not be perfect. I am aurprised that they starte dyou over a weekend with no one to contact your fist day out of the shoot! Do you have anyone in their office to call at all? The doctor I work for sees the person the morning after they sleep in them the first time and several times as well in the first 2-4 weeks. You really need to call them and *** what they reccomend. They are the ones that know what they gave you and what your eyes look like.

  3. Maybe u shd let ur eye get use to the lenses.
