Question:

Orwellian or what...?

Y!A keeps deleting negligibly insulting messages I leave people as answers. Most of the deleted answers I get as violations seem to be opinions of mine, largely religious ones, which others don't like. Is it fair that my views are deleted just because religious people disagree with my atheism?

I believe this site is over policed; what are your experiences on here, and your views?

  1. Read the Guidelines. There you'll see that insulting others is a violation.

It's not (necessarily) disagreement with you -- which IS an abuse of the report system -- but the insults that are getting your posts removed.

If you eliminate the insults, you'll get reported less, and when you are, can win apeals, if you've done nothing wrong.

Oh, and not answering the question is also a violation, so if you're answering questions, say, about what the Bible says about this or that, with "the Bible is hogwash" then you get nailed for not answering.

Read the Guidelines and follow them. You can slam IDEAS as wrong; but you're not supposed to slam people (the asker, other answerers, other participants by screen name).

My atheistic posts aren't removed; that's because I (usually) refrain from insulting people.

  2. i just had a violation for asking a serious question about mens health

    who polices the police?

  3. In some cases I would say that Y!A definitely over polices this site.  Then again, I have seen some questions (stupid, repetitive, and rude) make the cut time and time again.  They sure know how to pick and choose the questions that finally get posted ::rolls eyes::.  That is the system for you I suppose.

  4. i dont like anything totalitarian, so yes!

and religious people should accept atheism, we have to accept them and their crazy rules etc.

and i got my question deleted because it "wasnt a question" and it was i just didnt phrase it to their liking. grh.

reckon theyll get us for this one too?

and wahey we have same background. (easily amused -me, and not seen anyone else with it yet)

  5. Their system is ridiculously over policed by people who have no idea what they are doing ... it seems to me , that if someone reports a question or answer, that Y.A. just immediately takes action without even checking out the violation .. they just accept that all reports are true .

I'd like to hear from Y.A, about this ..
