What does it mean for something to be considered "Orwellian"?

1984, if it is properly presented, is definantly above a 7th grade level. Orwell is better known for his novela "Animal Farm" and the term "Orwellian" more often refers to that.

It means to live in a society or be ruled by a government in which the laws do not apply equally to all citizens and where hypocrisy reigns. The public is passified by thier own ignorance and naiveness.
