http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joseba-Llorente-c19475 is confident Osasuna are capable of avoiding the relegation zone despite their 1-0 loss at home to Valencia yesterday.
A single strike by Los Che forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-Soldado-c31367, was enough to give the visitors their first win under new coach, Ernesto Valverde.
Valverde was appointed as the new boss of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mauricio-c24899 Pellegrino was sacked.
Despite the loss at El Sadar stadium, Llorente believes Los Rojillos can start picking up points and escape the drop zone.
The Spaniard has revealed the situation at the club is not as bad as it was a few weeks back and believes that no one thought things will improve for his side lately.
“The situation is not as chaotic as it was a month ago. Because then no one saw the light.”
The former Villarreal forward admitted that they are in a fight for survival. He knows how close his team is to the danger zone and because of that he is urging his team-mates to keep fighting until the end of the season.
“We are in a fight and we have to clear ourselves from it as soon as possible. We have to grapple right until the end.”
Reflecting back on the game, the Spaniard stated that Los Che capitalized on their chance and scored the goal they needed to win the match. He believes no one at the club should feel disheartened about last night’s loss and lose their hope.
“Yesterday, Valencia scored when they had the chance – but we cannot despair about that.”
Moreover, Llorente accepts the defeat and suggests that everyone should forget about the loss and move on.
“They took the three points, but we must forget about that and move on.”
Osasuna are in a precarious situation at the moment. Although they are on the 16th position with 13 points in La Liga, there is nothing much that separates them from the teams in the bottom three.
Currently, they are just one point away from the relegation zone.
Osasuna will again encounter Valverde’s team. But this time they play them at home and it is in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday.
