The Little red ones won the match by a 1-0 margin in an encounter played on Sunday, May 1, at the Estadio Reyno de Navarra.

Mendilibar hailed his team for staying firm in the pressure situation and hoped that Osasuna could maintain the same momentum in their remaining four games in the season. He admitted that his team started the game as under dogs and the clouds of a possible
relegation were hanging over the heads of the club's players.
The manager believed that his team could still avoid relegation and come out as a completely different unit in the 2011-12 season.
The 50-year-old concluded by saying, “In the second-half we were convinced that we could not lose the game and we did not go crazy after the goal. With all the great players that Valencia have, we did a good job in containing them. The result was fair.”
