Osborne fears the soft ground will effect Never Can Tell’s performance at Chester
The ground at Chester is a huge cause for concern for Jamie Osborne, who is the trainer of Never Can Tell, and she is scheduled to compete in the StanJames.com Chester Cup.

The soft ground is making the trainer doubtful as the mare was defeated on a similar track before.
Despite the conditions of the track, the daughter of Montjeu, out of mare Shaanara, is likely to compete.
Owned by the Dr. Marwan Koukash, the bay mare accomplished a great victory in the Betfred Cesarewitch at Newmarket on October, 2011, where she finished 1 ½ lengths ahead of the Pat Phelan trained, Ermyn Lodge.
The trainer stated that:
"She's had a great preparation and this has been the plan since winning the Cesarewitch. It's an important race for Marwan and for us all."
Osborne further elaborated on the condition of the track and her previous race as he stated that:

"I'm obviously very concerned about the ground. She's run 14 times in her life and only once on soft ground and it was the worst run of her life. I'm not confident about her ability to handle it, but we'll give it a go.”
Osborne further went on to say that the post number is not a cause for concern for him, but the ground will definitely be challenging. He stated that on the soft ground, the talented runner “ran like a goat.”
Out of her fourteen starts, the talented runner has scored five times, and if the ground works in her favour, she is likely to gain another victory.
Gulf Of Naples, who is trained by Mark Johnston is also concerned for his runner, as the grey colt drew the widest in post positions.
The trainer is not particularly pleased with this as he believes that the runner is capable of great things, and his form is perfect. He stated that his horse will not be taken seriously as he will be racing out of the “car park.”
Different trainers fear different things, based on their runners but all of them are hoping that their trainees will excel.
