Oscar's last fight has been rumored to possibly be with Miguel Cotto in December is this the best scenario or is there a more compelling fight that can be made in your opinion.

  1. I could only hope it is true.  ODLH is 7 -5 -0 over his last 12 fights.  He should beat forbes, but he won't get past May.

Lets say he fights cotto on Dec. 10- he will lose- again.  That would make his record in the final 15 fights of his career 8 -7-0.

I don't hate ODLH, but I do not know any other fighter (Tyson included) who can continue to generate the revenue he does despite not having a chance to compete with the best in the sport.

I can only hope he hangs his gloves up, and soon.

EDIT:  Youncease- he may well be competitive, and yes the 1st fight with PBF was closer than I expected- but the truth is he is not winning fights.  In my opinion winning counts, and since 2000 DLH's record suggests he is mediocre at best.  I am not 'hating'on Oscar, I just want to see him WIN (not just be competitive) or retire.  His wins since 2000 include one over a washed up Gatti (who was never more than a club fighter- perhaps the most thrilling club fighter to watch), JCC who was WAY past his expiration date, a gift over strum, and some guy who is a complete nobody.  Winning counts, and DLH ain't doing that anymore.

  2. Yes, I believe there is Nothing better than to see De La Hoya retiring against one of the most dangerous welterweights. He can fight Trinidad for Pride, but I don't see that fight giving Oscar a better legacy.  This fight against Cotto will be (for lack of a better word) Amazing.  Even though it will be Oscar's toughest fight, I can still see him winning. He has good power, speed, he only needs to work on Endurance. This is my dream fight, and this is the fight that I'd like to see De La Hoya retire.

  3. The only fight De la hoya didnt compete in was the hopkins fight when he got his butt kicked. So you can't say he can't compete anymore.

If he loses against May, then i don't think Cotto will fight him, but if he did want to fight him then he should end his career with the Cotto fight.

If he can beat mayweather which i doubt unless he knocks him out. then he should fight cotto and i think he would beat Cotto.

If he beats cotto and really, really really doesn't want to retire, then  he should finish his career fighiting Mosley if he feels the need for one last war, (but since cotto already beat mosley then there's really no real need for this fight if DLH beats cotto)

If he beats May, cotto and Mosley then he should finish with Trinidad and with and an endless  ton of cash win lose or draw cause he still the biggest money maker win lose or draw. (again no real need for this fight other than$$$. 'cause i don't feel he lost the first time it was at the very, very least a draw) plus Trinidad got his butt kicked by Roy Jones already
