Who will come on top? I have not seen Forbes fight before but de LaHoya is still very good, even though his prime years are long.. long gone. He proved that in the Mayweather fight.

  1. no he proved nothing in the mayweather fight, he was completely outboxed landed no power punches. watch the fight again and you will see it should never have been a split decision. mayweather 9 rounds to 3

  2. Oscar will win this one easily hopefuly by knockout. Its basicaly his way of thanking his fans and having a tune up fight at the sametime being the fight for the first time in many years is not gonna be on ppv. Your right about him proving it in the mayweather fight that hes defintly still got it , he maybe past his prime but his skills havent diminished much at all. He has taken very good care of himself and is still in excellent condition unlike some of the other active fighters who are around the same age. Also regardless to what anyone else says or how they judged his fight with mayweather the judges saw it as a split decision win for mayweather ... their scorecards are the only scores that count so he could have easily pulled off a win there and in his rematch will have an even better shot because this time he will be the active fighter this year while mayweather is taken time off not too mention that he has mayweather sr. back in his corner as his trainer and already now knows what to expect from floyd after fighting him once already. Forbes has no chance against de la hoya and if he somehow wins i will shut up and eat my words and say de la hoya should retire immediatly but we all know thats not gonna happen.

  3. De la hoya buy early KO which will set up a boring fight with mayweather, and will probaly go for 59.99 on pay perview which i would NEVER pay!

  4. De La Hoya will win

  5. I think this is a great leap in talent for Forbes, I don't foresee Oscar having too much difficulty unless he doesn't take this serious and don't train, but i say Oscar, TKO7

  6. Oscar De LaHoya

  7. its only a tune-up fight...

i dont think forbes poses any real threat to oscar.

i say oscar wins a UD.

  8. De La Hoya vs. Forbes is a joke in my opinion.  Steve Forbes is a great guy, but he possess no threat to Oscar in this fight.  That is why he was chosen as a "stay active" oppenent, as a tune-up for the Mayweather rematch.

I may reconsider and put further analysis into this fight, if Forbes was a bigger guy.  He is alot smaller than De La Hoya, and lacks punching power.  I honestly can't think of any viable fight plan he could use to beat De La Hoya!

Also, he would have to visabley dominate Oscar to earn the decision.  Think of the kind of money Oscar, Mayweather, and everyone else involved stands to make in the proceeding rematch after the forbes fight!  With all that being said, Oscar wins by a UD or late TKO.
