Oscar Ekstrom secures Men’s 200m freestyle title: 2011 Swedish Short Course Nationals
Oscar Ekstrom ousted her opponents in the pool during the penultimate evening session of the 2011 Swedish Short Course Nationals in Stockholm, Sweden, on Sunday, November 27.
Ekstrom went on to win the Men’s 200m freestyle title in the arena against his rivals by banging the finishing divider in a striking mark of 1 minute and 46.70 seconds. Meanwhile, Robin Andréasson earned silver medal in the respective race by clicking the
finishing barrier in a mark of 1 minute and 47.66 seconds and the bronze medal went to Radovan Siljevski in a blot of 1 minute and 47.90 seconds, respectively.
David Ernstsson got fourth position in the respective splash by hitting the finishing blockade in a time of 1 minute and 48.93 seconds, while the fifth place went to Mats Westergren in a spot of 49.07 seconds.
In the meantime, the Men’s 400m Individual Medley crown was taken over by Fredrich Risebrandt in a winning time of 4 minutes and 20.41 seconds. The silver title was clinched by Anton Andersson in 4 minutes and 22.57 seconds, whereas, the bronze title went
to Petros Katsampanis in a time of 4 minutes and 23.21 seconds.
Martin Persson earned fourth place honour in the respective splash by thrashing the finishing blockade in an impressive mark of 4 minutes and 23.41 seconds, while the fifth spot went to Linus Kanth in a spot of 4 minutes and 25.97 seconds.
Additionally, the Men’s 200m freestyle relay crown was notched by the squad of
Petter Stymne, Pontus Flodqvist, Alexander Nystrom and Sebastian Wikstrom in a time of 1 minute and 28.26 seconds, while Petra Granlund, Sara Thyden, Gabriella Fagundez and Josefin Lindkvist claimed Women’s 400m medley relay by banging the finishing divider
in a winning time of 4 minutes and 01.41 seconds.
Finally, the winners, Oscar Ekstrom and Fredrich Risebrandt, were awarded gold medals after the completion of the meets. The 2011 Swedish Short Course Nationals is a great occasion for all young guns of Sweden to prepare themselves for next year’s Olympic
Games, in London.
