Oscar Time suffers injury, ruled out of Grand National chase

Oscar Time, the veteran horse, will be unable to take part in the Aintree spectacular due to an injury. This news was revealed by his trainer, Martin Lynch, who hopes that his horse is able to make a comeback next season after recovering completely.
According to Lynch:
“Unfortunately, Oscar Time has met with a setback and will not run again this season. He has suffered slight tendon damage and while age is not on his side we are hoping that with plenty of rest he will be able to return and have another shot at the
Grand National next year. He had been showing us that there was still plenty of spark left in him.”
Oscar Time’s last race at Aintree was an impressive one. He was unable to win, but ended up being the runner up to Ballabriggs.

Both these horses had a starting price of 14 to 1 in that race, and they challenged each other for victory until the end.
Both the winner and runner up horse from last year were given a starting price of 16 to 1 for the Aintree chase in 2012.
However, the 11-year-old horse suffered a setback at a very crucial stage of his career.

He might not be able to compete at the highest level again, which will be a very sad end to his career.
The news of injury to Oscar Time was also quite sad for jockey, Sam Waley-Cohen, who rode the horse in his previous six races. He was also scheduled to partner him in the Grand National Chase at Aintree.
This means that the jockey will also miss out on the big event. He would have been expecting to do well in the race in order to make a name for himself.

However, he will have to wait for another opportunity to come his way in the future.
Waley-Cohen, after hearing the injury news of his horse, tweeted:

“Terrible news today. Oscar Time needs the rest of the season off with a leg. GN dream hits the rocks! Gutted for the horse & all connected.”
Oscar Time and Waley-Cohen last partnered in a hurdle at Thurles in November last year, but failed to make an impression.
