I have 2 albino oscars in a 55 gallon tank, one of them is now digging a hole and they are both protective in their area, there are no eggs yet but I was wondering will they eat their eggs after they lay them or protect their eggs? I have other fishes and worried other fishes will come and mess with the eggs or something.

  1. There's a good chance they will eat the eggs or resulting fry if they feel there's a threat.  They can be good parents, but if you want to save any of the eggs/fry, remove the other occupants.

Virtually all fish will eat eggs.

55 gallons may be okay for breeding smaller sized oscars, but not as a permanent home, especially with additional fish.
