Oscar de la Hoya allows Timothy Bradley to fight with his fighters – Boxing News
Former fighter and the current president of Golden Boy Promotions Oscar de la Hoya has allowed his fighters to go head to head with Timothy Bradley, who is promoted by Top Rank.
Both the promotions, Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank, are competitors and usually their fighters do not clash with each other until now. Considering the heavy demand from fans of a bout between Amir Khan and Timothy Bradley, Hoya has agreed to let his
fighter Khan fight Bradley.
While talking about Bradley’s future, Hoya iterated, “There’s a lot of options out there, a lot of great fights. The only thing Bob Arum and Top Rank has to do is pick up the phone and call. We have all the fighters, we have all the opponents, we have all
the big fights people want to see. Pick up the phone. I’m sure Bradley wants to fight all of them.”
Bradley took the WBO welterweight title from Manny Pacquiao on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The decision soon became controversial and Bradley tasted the wrath of boxing fans. Even Oscar de la Hoya was among those who believed Pacquiao had won the
fight and the judges were bias. However, Bradley has repeatedly defended himself by saying he won the fight and he defeat he most explosive fighter in the world.
For now, Bradley wants a rematch against Pacquiao or a match against Mayweather. The unbeaten American believes he is of the same stature as Mayweather, and he has proven it by defeating Pacquiao. On the other hand, Amir Khan has already issued a challenge
to Bradley for a fight. According to Bradley, he will pursue a fight against Pacquiao or Mayweather but if none of the two works out then he will go for Khan.
For now, Bradley is the WBO welterweight titlist and he has vacated his WBO junior welterweight title. If things work out for him, he will get a rematch against Pacquiao on November 10. However, if he does not, then Khan is always there as a rival to take
on.
